Results of QRA are used in optimization of risk reduction measures and protection of outside population to keep them below acceptable Societal Risk norms.
Fire Risk Assessment is carried out to identify risk of fire impacting the critical structure or facility based upon fire size, probability of Flame direction and radiation intensity.
Results of Fire Risk Assessment is used in optimization of application of Active and Passive Fire Protection systems based upon the Risk of fire impacting a particular target.
As per IEC-61508 requirements, all Functional Safety Loops needs reliability assessment to ensure risk to plant, people and environment is adequately mitigated. All instrumented safety systems needs to be assessed for its reliability by a qualitative or semi quantitative approach as per IEC-61511.
SIL level for SIF loops may be classified by Riskgraph approach (Qualitative) or LOPA approach (Semi quantitative). Sometimes client prefer SIL analysis by Riskgraph method and for SIF loops of SIL-3 or higher needs verification by LOPA method.
